Starboard Past Weekend!
Another wild weekend filled with great events this past weekend! Saturday was perfect Starboard weather, nicely overcast with a slight drizzle. With a dunk tank benefiting MS research and the Stache Crawl it felt like a holiday Saturday. Suicide Sunday continued to have that holiday feel, this place was full from 9am all the way till 1am with events and people enjoying themselves. Another great fundraiser Sunday - the DC/NY Fire Departments. Bringing in fire trucks and plenty of firemen from the cities to guest bartend and enjoy some Dewey Beach Hospitality! Over $5000 was raised by the Firemen Sunday night. Sunday morning we had a little birthday tribute to Dewey's own Elvis, with free T-Shirts and Elvis glasses to hundreds. It was fun to see Frank entertain as he has done over the past decade! Thanks so much to all of you that took part in helping these activities succeed, we are proud of how The Starboard helps so many great organizations due to our incredible clientele! Always very generous to deserving causes!
SIGN FROM AFGHANISTAN DEDICATED! This past Sunday, we paid tribute and said Thanks so some very generous and dedicated men from our area that recently returned from a year in Afghanistan. While they were there last year, they emailed me about using the name Starboard for their camp & posting our logo over it. Of course the answer was obvious, it was a HUGE honor for them to think so highly of this place. When I heard from them, I sent over a care package of Starboard T-Shirts, VIP cards, whatever I could fit into a box and ship overseas. Everyone here at the Starboard is honored beyond belief, and this past Sunday we saw what they took over a month and a half to make... an incredible huge Starboard sign. Hand carved! We have now displayed this sign at our main entrance with a plaque in their honor. Thanks so much to all the guys for this gesture, and for making it here this past Suicide Sunday to celebrate!
FOOD SALES! At this point of the summer, The Starboard has increased our food sales over 30 percent from any prior year. We are busier than ever before in our 53 year history serving outstanding breakfasts and lunches! If you are not eating at The Starboard, you are missing out! Eggs Delmarva, Homemade French Toast, Waffles, Burgers, Crabcakes, Sandwiches, Salads - we have worked hard to bring you the best we can offer while here in Dewey. Starboard was voted BEST DEWEY BEACH RESTAURANT in 2012 and 2011 by readers of Delaware Today magazine!
BAR GOLF 2012! This is one of the final big events of the season in Dewey, GoDewey.com helps host the end of season Bar Golf.
Get ready to see a town filled with colored T-Shirts, whether you are on the official bar golf or one of the may that prefer to keep their golf game right here at The Starboard, this is the Saturday to be on hand.
