DOWN TO JUST THREE!!!
Just 2 normal summer weekends then the grand finale of the summer with Labor Day...that is all the time you have left to get all you can out of Dewey Beach 2009! At least for the summer season anyway...here at The Starboard we will celebrate a huge weekend on October 3rd with our 50th Year Celebration, then our famous Closing Weekend on November 6-8th! There is plenty of action each of these last summer weekends, so be sure to get down here early and stay late on each of these last weekends!

Yes, SUNDAY NIGHT we are very fortunate to get another weekend show from the incredible LAURALEA!! She will hit the stage by 10pm Sunday night. I understand most of you spend a full 8 hour shift with us on Sunday afternoons, but having LL here is a real treat, so be sure to find a way to get up from that long nap Sunday evening, and try one more Sweet Tea cocktail in front of LauraLea!!

THIS WEEKEND 8/21-8/23
THIS WEEKEND 8/21-8/23 The weather forecast looks clear, and for those of you that like rough surf...you will get it this weekend with Hurricane Bill out there at sea. At the moment, all signs are that the hurricane will stay far away from us, but will kick up some pretty huge surf over the weekend.

GODEWEY.COM brings you their annual Dewey Beach Bar Golf this weekend. Generally there are well over 600 participants for this event, which thankfully hits the Starboard early on the 'course.' For information on the event, check out their website at www.DeweyBeachBarGolf.com

Saturday looks like we may get some afternoon showers with the high temperatures...so just a reminder of where to go when the clouds roll in...WHEN IT RAINS, THE STARBOARD POURS!

And for all of you that do not like to pay cover charges...we will see you here on Saturday night as DJ Smoky has this place rocking starting at 8pm! The lines to get in have been pretty long the last few weeks, so if you do not want to wait in line...be sure to get here early!

Suicide Sunday
Sundays are crazy this year! This past Sunday The Starboard sold more food than any day ever in this place...over 1200 total breakfasts served before 2pm! Now THAT is a lot of eggs! So this Sunday, be sure to join the hottest Sunday spot in Dewey with our Sunday Funday and get your eggs, french toast, waffles, or omelets served with a huge schooner of Bloody Mary!! Our top selling cocktail of the summer has been the Grapefruit Crush...so if you prefer that route...we have Grapefruit, Orange, Mango, Iced Tea or Grape Crushes ready for you! The craze this summer has been the sweet tea drinks...so make sure you are drinking either Firefly or Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea vodkas....cause here at The Starboard, we will only serve you the best!

Doug Segree will start a little early this Sunday on the deck, then we get our once a year appearance from one of the long standing beach houses in Dewey, 'DICKENSON!' The guys from Dickenson will take the stage around 4:45 on Sunday, and keep the deck packed until 6pm. Then Sunday night, with LauraLea & Tripp Fabulous on our main stage...18 Dickenson will do a little guest bartending for their favorite local charity.

STARBOARD'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION!
STARBOARD'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION! On Saturday night, October 3rd, we are hosting a Black Tie celebration to remember the 50 years of Starboard history. Tickets ($100 includes all food, entertainment, beer, wine, and souvenirs) are now selling quickly to the event, we will tent off the entire parking lot, bring in tons of red carpeting, produce a DVD documentary and booklet on Starboard's first 50 years...and of course, bring back plenty of the old Starboard staff for the weekend! We will have piano's early in the night, then LauraLea as the headliner later in the night, food will be provided by Delaware's famous Big Fish Grill. Here is a sample of the menu for the night

DEWEY BEACH POLITICS!
Lastly, we have an election upcoming here in Dewey Beach on September 19th. For those of you that are property owners and have voting rights, they have changed a few rules for absentee ballots this year. If you would like our opinion on who to vote for, how to get absentee ballots, etc... I am more than happy to correspond with you as the business community here in Dewey is vital to keeping this town afloat. Homeowners receive way too much information in the mail and email this time of year from Dewey candidates, but if you wish to know who the candidates we think will make Dewey the best, feel free to email me at Monty@TheStarboard.com.
