New Year's Eve Update

We are down to the final preparations here for yet another sold out New Year's Eve party at The Starboard. Though we have sold out our tickets for New Year's Eve, we will be open for the entire weekend and know many people are heading this way, hope you can swing through The Starboard at some point for some good ole fashioned fun!

Mother Nature threw a wrench into our NYE preparations, dropping 15" of snow on us, and with 40mph Nor 'easter winds, another foot or more had blown up onto The Starboard deck and parking lot. Makes for some heavy lifting to get this snow out of here in time for the weekend, but we will get it done, carpet the outside heated decks, add a tent in the parking lot for a coat check, and be ready to roll this weekend!

We will be open for FIVE days over New Year's, with many people down for the week, and others coming for multiple days over the weekend, it made sense to be open as much as we can over this next week so everyone has somewhere to enjoy themselves here in Dewey!

New Year's Weekend Hours:

Wednesday - 5pm-1am
Thursday - 5pm-1am
Friday - 9am-1am
Saturday - 9am-1am
Sunday - 9am-8pm

1. TICKETS: For those of you coming, please remember your tickets! We will have a list at the door of all people who purchased tickets just in case. For those of you that wanted to come but didn't purchase tickets in time, we will open the doors if there is room for more at 11pm, but not until then!

2. COAT CHECK: At the front entrance we will have a Coat Check for you to drop off your jackets in a heated tent, and pick up some party favors, etc... as you enter. This has worked incredibly well over the years as the first year we had the coat check on the side and more than half of you forgot your coats! We do ask that you PLEASE hold onto your ticket checks! We get about 550 black leather coats, add alcohol to a lost ticket ...makes for a not-so-fun time trying to retrieve your exact black leather coat! Thank you!

3. MENU: Listed below is a sampling of what our kitchen will prepare for your New Year's appetite. Executive Chef Bobby Varua, who oversees many of the nine restaurants in our family, will prepare the menu below for all to enjoy between the hours of 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm:

THE GRAND TIER EXTRAVAGANZA
Jumbo shrimp cocktail, traditional accompaniments
Hillman Oysters on the half shell, horseradish tomato, red wine mignonette
Antipasto, assorted cheeses, and stuffed olives
Ahi Tuna sushi, and wild salmon sashimi, pickled ginger

CARVING STATION
Herb crusted rib eye of beef, horseradish sour cream
Tender brisket, smoky BBQ sauce

CHAFFING DISH STATION
Thai chile glazed crispy chicken wings, fresh scallions
Roasted sweet-soy glazed haricot verts, toasted almonds

4. ENTERTAINMENT: Normally we have LauraLea & Tripp Fabulous with us for New Year's...we wish LauraLea well as she is about ready to give birth to a new baby girl! We will go with our main summer line up of DJs Smoky & John Hardy. John will start off the night, and Smoky will be here a little later in the evening.

5. CHAMPAGNE: There will be an abundance of champagne available Friday night. We will do our best to distribute glasses of champagne to everyone in attendance beginning around 11:40 pm. Barstaff, barbacks, and others will be passing it out from every direction, we have plenty for all...and then some! So please be sure to grab a glass and toast a huge Thank You to each of yourselves for making The Starboard the greatest place on Earth, and to a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year for all in 2011!

6. BETHANY BLUES DISCOUNTS: An added bonus to all with Starboard New Year's tickets...we will offer you 20% OFF your check at either of our Bethany Blues restaurants over the weekend (Friday-Sunday) if you bring your ticket (or stub) to show your server. We hope you take advantage of this and see us at Blues (Lewes or Bethany) for award winning ribs & BBQ this weekend. Bethany Blues of Lewes is open for Lunch & Dinner everyday, the shop down in Bethany is open at 4:30pm everyday!

As always, the TV's will be busy on Saturday with so many great college bowl games on. This year we are fortunate to have a special treat with the NHL Winter Classic at 1pm on Saturday. Last year we had the Flyers on for all to enjoy, this year it is the Capitals and Penguins! All three of these teams have loyal followings here from Starboard customers, so we are excited to bring you this game in full high definition and will most likely play the sound through our system and have the DJs play during intermissions. I expect a huge crowd on New Year's Day as The Starboard has always been the best spot in town to nurse those hangovers. Whether you prefer our Bloody Marys, Crushes, Red Bull drinks...and anything on our award winning breakfast menu, we will have a full selection of everything to take care of you on the First day of the New Year!
