Paint Dewey Pink This Weekend!

PAINT DEWEY PINK THIS WEEKEND!
DEWEY GOES PINK 5K & PIG ROAST - Saturday! This Saturday is a very special day to many at The Starboard and around Dewey Beach: Our 2nd annual Dewey Goes Pink 5K and Pig Roast Party. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year benefiting our local Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. This weekend is our way to raise funds to support our local community affected by the horrible disease, and raise awareness to the fight against Breast Cancer.
We spent months attending town council meetings to finally gain approval for this event as not only a 5K race (with a 1.5mile walk) but also a Parking Lot Pig Roast following the run catered by our Bethany Blues BBQ team. The weather forecast is perfectly sunny. Hopefully many of you can join us this weekend to run the 5K, walk the 1.5 mile walk, or stop in to eat, drink, and support our effort against breast cancer. REGGIE BRANCH IS TURNING 50........ Can anyone believe it? Yes, Reggie is seriously turning 50 in just two weeks. He has been lying to many of us for years about his age, but Reggie won the Special Teams MVP in the Redskins Super Bowl vs. Buffalo in 1992. We are planning a nice Saturday night party for Reggie on Saturday, October 20th. Jimi Smooth & Hit Time will be on hand to do it up right! Food and drinks will be plentiful as we wish Reggie well.
If you can make it to Dewey Beach on the 20th, Reggie Branch would LOVE to have you on hand to celebrate his 50th and possibly his retirement from Dewey (if he sticks to his words this year). It will be a sad day at The Starboard if he is not back, but totally understood as he has given the Starboard close to 20 years of his post-NFL life.
STARBOARD CLOSING WEEKEND 2012 We will close up the main doors of The Starboard the weekend of November 9th, 10th, & 11th. This is always a high priority weekend for many of you to return to Dewey and celebrate what has been the biggest season in Starboard history. We cannot thank you enough for making The Starboard what it is - the greatest spot in Dewey Beach by a mile! Thank You! Join us on Closing Weekend as we close the doors and winterize the place until New Year's Eve.
We will open for the entire New Year's Eve Weekend of course, and start selling tickets for NYEve (which has sold out 13 straight years) at the same price as always; $29.99. Those tickets will become available on our closing weekend and right after that on our website. Hopefully we will see you this weekend for Dewey Goes Pink...if not for Reggie's big 50 in two weeks, and lastly, at CLOSING PARTY the 2nd weekend of November!
