Our good friends down the street at Nalu have their "Super Bowl" of weekends planned, though this is The Starboard's newsletter, I always try to make you aware of everything going on around town. For those of you that have not yet tried Nalu down on the other end of Dewey Beach, this weekend they bring a ton of entertainment up from Key West to celebrate the first ever Nalupalooza. They will have live entertainment around the clock this weekend, and will basically bring Key West right here to Dewey Beach. Stop down at some point over the weekend, they have done a great job adding to the "Fun Factor" in Dewey Beach, so we welcome them and wish them a great first ever festival!

With perfect weather here in Dewey for pretty much the past 5 weeks, it was another beautiful weekend at the beach. In the 80's with plenty of sunshine seems to be the norm for this summer. I am sure we have some hot and humid days ahead, good thing The Starboard is your spot in Dewey with over 60 TONS of Air Conditioning!! This past Sunday, we celebrated the 20 year anniversary of the Wings To Go Suicide Wing Eating contest. For a change, it was NOT 99 degrees out on this day. The $500 grand prize went to a lifeguard from Bethany Beach...he took down 98 suicide wings in the 30 minute time span, and the Starboard's own waitress Lindsey Ringstrom won the female title and took home $200 herself! Sunday night we had Jimi Smooth and the Hit Time back in town, and plenty were happy to enjoy some motown and fun with Jimi.

This Saturday - we welcome bus loads of good friends from the "Running of the Santa's" group in Philadelphia to Dewey Beach to help us celebrate in our own way a little Christmas in July! Titled Rudolph's Revenge, this is the weekend for you to all break out your Santa hats, Christmas attire and bring it to The Starboard this Saturday to enjoy an afternoon of July Christmas spirit! We have bands all afternoon with Jimi Smooth and Last Walk Home....representatives from Miller Lite will be with us all day giving away plenty of prizes for games, and creating a variety of different contests. Miller Lites will be on special all afternoon for just $3 and of course The Starboard's famous Grapefruit Crush is always on special for just $5 every Saturday afternoon! These guys coming down from Running of the Santa's are great people, we always have more fun than any other weekend with them all here in town, so if you are looking for a fun filled afternoon this Saturday, grab your Santa hat and come help celebrate Christmas in July with us at The Starboard!! Merry Christmas!

Sundays are ridiculously fun this year, they have been busier than any other year, and people seem to stay from 9am all the way till close to sunset every week...so no matter when you can make it in this Sunday, be sure to join us for the best day of the week in Dewey Beach! Breakfast is served till 2pm each and every day....Eggs Delmarva, homemade French Toast, dozens of Omelets, we do it all when it comes to breakfast. Bloody Mary's, Crushes, Red Bull drinks, everything you need to recover from a rough Saturday night!! This week Doug Segree of course is on our deck all afternoon, then we are very excited to have LAURALEA & TRIPP FABULOUS on the stage this Sunday night at 10pm. Everytime LauraLea hits the Starboard stage, this place is packed...so pace yourself for a big Sunday night once again this week, cause you won't want to miss the incredible LauraLea!

The tickets are being printed as we speak, so don't have them in hand as of today, but should any day now, so they will go on sale by next week's newsletter. The 50th Anniversary Celebration will be Saturday, October 3rd. A Black Tie formal event here at The Starboard where we will roll out the red carpet, completely transform the place for one night, and host the biggest celebration seen here in Dewey for years! Mark it down on your calendar, as tickets will be available by next week!
