Here we go, the grand finale of our 2009 season! This is the famous weekend when so many of you will ascend on our quiet little town of Dewey Beach. Well...maybe it won't be so quiet this weekend, but once The Starboard is done for the season, this town goes to sleep for the winter! Most of the hotels tell me they are almost full for the weekend, so that means if you have not gotten your room, you better click on our website and find a hotel for the weekend! We will kick off the Closing Ceremonies this Thursday night with our Local's Closing Party. To the right is our weekend schedule!
Don't forget the Grand Finale! Your final Starboard meal of 2009. The final Suicide Sunday is always one of the best days of the year. We will remain open all day/all night till all the product is gone! Do yourself a favor, keep your hotel room for Sunday night, every year most people end up staying over! Our legendary DJ John Hardy will be here till the last light is out on Sunday night, and probably till the last Budweiser is dry!

We have two very special situations in which we will conduct some fundraising from over our "closing weekend." First is a very special young kid whom is an employee of ours at our new Bethany Blues-Lewes. Brian Tappan, one of our bussers, a star lacrosse player for our local Cape Henlopen High School, was recently injured in an accident and is currently paralyzed from the waste down. Our staff from Bethany Blues will be at the Starboard on Saturday from 4pm-9pm selling pork, brisket, and chicken sliders to our crowd to raise money in an effort to help Brian's family with medical expenses. We will donate all of the food from the Blues, and hope you will all help us help one of our own.
Also over our closing weekend, we are going to work with our friends at the Fraternal Order of the Police to raise funds for Aubrey Spicer. Aubrey is the 3yr old child of recently killed Georgetown Police Officer Chad Spicer. This entire community has come together to help raise money for Aubrey, to do our part, we have asked the FOP to stop by over our closing weekend to collect donations for Chad's little girl.

Quite a bit has shut down for the season, as Nalu, Gary's and the Rusty Rudder shut down last weekend, while the Bottle & Cork, McShea's, Jimmy's and Northbeach have been shut down for a while. Down on the south end of town, Que Pasa, the Lighthouse/Cove are both still open all weekend, Mama Maria's is still around so stop in to see Bucket on your way to The Starboard. Hammerheads, Woody's, Scraps, and Grotto's all remain open, and across the street from The Starboard, Scully's will be open celebrating their closing weekend as well....so go eat up their remaining Bison Burgers! Of course Mama Celeste, Wings to Go, The Shop, etc... are all still here to feed you all late night, or early morning!

Obviously with another offseason, we will do work to The Starboard to improve everyone's favorite Dewey Beach location as we do each winter. I have always tried to stay ahead of our competition by doing so many of the little things better. From building repairs to operating standards...for instance, at closing time here, we continue to play music till 1:15am, keep the lights down and allow you to hang out till 1:30am. Never do we rush you out at 1am like so many others. We NEVER charge a cover....but everyone knows this. And now, we have installed Hand Sanitizers throughout The Starboard so you can remain Germ Free with so many people packed into our place....we hope you will all do your part to stay healthy, cause we want you to have the time of your lives, and not get your systems run down! Hand Sanitizers, Eggs Delmarva, Fresh Grapefruit & Orange Crushes, Incredible Bloody Mary's, Live music, all day/night DJ's...we have all the supplies you need for a phenomenal & healthy weekend!

![]() We are so honored to have LAURALEA & TRIPP FABULOUS booked for our 11th annual New Years Eve bash at The Starboard. We will put tickets on sale for this within the next few weeks, by Thanksgiving at the latest. Always a sell out, we will have tickets available for $29.99 for our New Years Eve Party, and will remain open the entire weekend for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and nightlife! We are currently working on a system where you can purchase, and print your tickets at the same time online, so hope to have that up very shortly! ![]() |
THANKS again for such an incredible season. This year marked our 50th year in business at The Starboard, and somehow you guys find a way to make this place better each and every year. The Starboard is already by far the most popular daytime/nighttime spot in Dewey Beach, and it seems it is the favorite spot for most of you anywhere in the world! Thank you so much from myself and all of our staff for treating us so well this year, we are very excited to get recharged and do it all over again beginning St. Patty's Day 2010!
Thank you!!!
