Once again, the Starboard is your spot Saturday Morning to catch the busses to Seacrets for all of you joining Kenny G and his annual jaunt down south for the afternoon. We hate to see you all head out of Dewey, but I believe that all of these fun events help add to the quality of your fun times here in Dewey Beach for the summer. Give it a try and we will catch you Saturday night, or even better...on SUNDAY MORNING!

Friday - It's our Grotto Pizza Happy Hour with $1 slices of Grotto Pizza and $2 Miller High Life Lights / $3 Miller Lites from 5-8pm. Two great businesses both in their 50th year team up to bring you a great Happy Hour location...stop by to see us when you get to town on Friday! DJ Smoky will be set up out on the deck as well.

Saturday - We have an acoustic act from the band Decade 8 here with us from 2-5 pm, they will be around several of the remaining Saturdays for this summer, as John Kelly of Decade 8 was the drummer for LauraLea & Tripp Fabulous for the past several years...so we welcome him back in his new role!

Breast Cancer Big Wheel Races!
This Saturday at 2pm, we will once again host the Pink Big Wheel races in our parking lot raising money for Breast Cancer Research. This was an exciting event last year, we are happy they want to bring it to us again this Saturday. So wear your Pink...and bring your Big Wheel this Saturday to participate, though I am sure we will have a few extras around. Obviously money is being raised for this great cause that touches most all of us in one way or another, so if nothing else, please stop by to enjoy the festivities and support the research for a cure for Breast Cancer!

We have been on a roll with huge Suicide Sundays over the past month or so...and this week will be no exception. Famous for Breakfast for 50 years...you have to start your day off with either our Eggs Delmarva or our mouthwatering homemade French Toast! We will have our Bloody Mary Smorgasbords up, our Syrup Smorgasbords, etc...so start off the most important meal of the day in style, right here with us! DOUG SEGREE will hit the deck by 2 pm. Then Sunday night we welcome back the band 11:11 out of Philadelphia, with all kinds of Bud Light specials throughout the day and night!

Finally we have the tickets in hand for our 50th Anniversary Celebration to be held on Saturday night, October 3rd. Here is what I can tell you so far. Though the entire weekend will be a celebration, we will host a Black Tie formal party on Saturday the 3rd. We will be closed during the daytime as we give the Starboard a complete makeover. Bringing in Red Carpeting, Tents over the parking lot, high tech light and video shows, etc... all will be part of this special night. We will start off the night with Piano's here to take us back to the early years of The Starboard, then moving on with our DJ's and finishing up with LauraLea & Tripp Fabulous on stage. Food will be provided by Big Fish Grill, and each person attending will receive several goodies to help commemorate the 50 years here at The Starboard. I anticipate the party will be underway by 5pm this evening, and of course roll all the way till 1am. We will have an open bar with Beer, Wine, Champagne and liquor will also be available for sale as a cash bar item.

I have already been told of many pre-cocktail parties around town that evening, and even some local businesses that are being rented out to those that wish to throw a pre-party for their housemates. I anticipate a full house, which will more than likely sell out before summer ends. Hopefully this date will fit into your plans as we want as many of you as possible to join us to celebrate 50 great years in one of the most historic restaurant/bars not only in Dewey Beach, but in this country!

You can submit hard copies of pictures with a return address to me at The Starboard, 2009 Highway One, Dewey Beach, DE 19971 and I will scan them and return them too you. Or you can use this link provided to email or upload your pictures if you have them electronically. We have plenty of pictures from the past 10 years...but need those that are 10 years or older. So if you have any history, please share it with us as we are putting together a book and a DVD for each person attending to view at home and enjoy the Starboard's story.
