The Starboard is now in Summer Mode

We are now open 7 days a week, as many college graduates have hit town, and most schools will be out very soon. Not only do we have people in town that want The Starboard open, we also now have employees to staff a full 7 days a week from breakfast through last call... so our summer schedule has begun! Now open daily at 8am for breakfast, with entertainment 7 days a week!

Most all of our summer staff will be in place and back to working their normal spots, so you can find your own personal regular bartender, server, etc., where you expect to see them this weekend. We will have all 3 of our DJs in the rotation as well, with Steve doing the mornings, John Hardy in the afternoons, and Smoky at night. Saturday night, everyone here is very excited as we welcome an incredible band from the Baltimore area, CAN'T HANG! For those of you from that area, you know them well. CAN'T HANG will perform several Sunday nights later in the summer, this Saturday was an added treat so you can get a preview of them. Of course, our NO COVER policy remains, so you can always find great FREE entertainment here at The Starboard, no matter which nights you choose to join us. I highly suggest being here Saturday night if you will be in town, these guys are a Must See!

We will be adding plenty of fresh material each and every week, add this link to you favorites as we want you all to enjoy the hard work put into this production. TheStarboard.tv is a behind the scenes look at the staff of The Starboard, guaranteed laughs for everyone! Today we have a Starboard Staff Golf Outing -- and trust me, there are plenty of Non-Golfers, so it will be interesting. We will have our cameras rolling to catch all the laughs and be added to the site shortly. We are all excited for TheStarboard.tv, it has brought us up to speed with all social media, not just Facebook and Twitter, The Starboard can be followed through so much more. Once you view our Starboard TV, you will see how this is a behind the scenes look, we have NO intention of filming customers unless you ask us to do so. Our full camera crews will only be in town the same weekends they have been for the past 5 years, on big holidays, Running of the Bull, etc. So rest assured, The Starboard is still a safe place for you to have as much fun as you can; the cameras are to film our staff. More to come on special features of Starboard TV in the coming weeks!

LAURALEA & TRIPP FABULOUS!

For the 8th year now, we welcome so many people's favorite, LAURALEA & TRIPP FABULOUS back each and every Wednesday night, along with many Sunday nights all summer. You can check out LL on their website, Trippfabulous.com Every Wednesday night now the full band hits the stage at 10pm, and those of you here over Memorial Day Weekend can see her on Sunday night.

OCEAN 98 BLOODY MARY CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Next Sunday, May 23rd, The Starboard will again host the Ocean 98 Bloody Mary Championships. The Starboard has won the contest the past two years, showing all those down in Maryland that us Delaware bars know how to make an incredible Bloody Mary! The winner hosts the contest each following year. We plan to keep the contest right here in Dewey Beach for many years to come! For those of you in town on Sunday, May 23rd, please stop by as the cost if just $5 to taste all of the entries.

Last year's charity was 'new lungs for Chuck' and this year we will support the Breast Cancer Coalition. Mark your social calendars, as Team Starboard will need your votes to show up our competition on Sunday, May 23rd at 12 Noon! If you like Bloody Marys, you CAN NOT miss this event!

DEWEY BEACH PARKING PERMITS
I am sorry to report that the price of the seasonal parking permit in town is again $200. The Town of Dewey Beach does not have a property tax for owners, so most of the revenue in this town is driven through tourism, businesses, transfer taxes, and renters. With a poor economy, Dewey Beach -- like many others -- had a rough 2008, which is why the fees were raised. That being said, I am very happy to report you can now purchase your seasonal parking permits through your realtor's office, so no more waiting in line down at Town Hall for a permit.

Dewey has also been kind enough to offer FREE PARKING on Monday-Wednesday nights after 5pm, that means no meter or permits! Dewey Beach has made huge strides this past offseason to provide a slew of new events in our town. I try to keep this newsletter for information on just The Starboard, but like to slip in any special events throughout our town so you are informed.
