The big weekend we have prepared for all season has finally arrived! Most available tickets have been sold to the celebration of 50 fantastic years at The Starboard Restaurant! We will still sell a few more tickets between now and then, and hold them at the door for anyone ordering...but will cut the sales once we hit our magic number! If you still plan to attend, order tickets now to be sure! Here is our schedule of events for the big Anniversary Weekend, with full details on all you need to know if you are joining us!

We welcome back many former staff of The Starboard over all 50 years. I have been in contact with many of my own former co-workers, and those that proceeded me at the 'Board. We will have a nice representation of former employees, to join in with all of us that are still here. The upper deck bar/VIP room will be used to welcome all back and for those of you here to visit and catch up. From Kathy Q, to Pam Wade, Robyn Vivian, etc... most all of your former bar staff will return this weekend. We are also very excited to get a bonus show from LAURALEA & TRIPP FABULOUS tonight...so for those of you in town that cannot make the big bash on Saturday, you can get a chance to enjoy LauraLea with us on Friday night, as we are fully open all day/night and open to all.
We will be closed all day long to prepare, decorate, construct, etc... as the set up for this party will crush what we always did for the Maxim party! Those of you coming will see the Starboard in a way never seen before! Since we are not open for our famous breakfast and daytime happy hour...there is a pre-party going on down at Nalu all afternoon, also open for business are Que Pasa, The Lighthouse/Cove, Gary's, McShea's, Hammerheads, Scap's, Jimmy's Grill, and the Rusty Rudder who is hosting their music festival all weekend. Plenty of places for you to spend the afternoon while we prepare for the big one! The Party will start up at 5pm on Saturday. Some will be dressed in Tuxes, others in Suits, and others in something creatively formal! We are putting down carpet on all of our outdoor decks so you women in heels will have an easier time, and though the weather looks nice and warm, we will have a coat check as well for your convenience. To enter, you'll feel like Hollywood, with your stroll up our red carpeting entrance along the Starboard logo wall, a perfect spot for pictures. You will be greeted by Megan with our entrance champagne bar. Once inside, most all of your normal current staff will be behind their bars. Plenty of food will be served by Big Fish Grill, a few stations with most of the food passed by servers. The entertainment schedule will go like this, from 5:30-7:30, we welcome Doug James, a popular piano player to entertain during the cocktail hours - this will represent the first 20+ years of Starboard style...when the place always had an organ/piano in the corner played on most nights. From 7:30-9:30, our long time DJ John Hardy (now in his 28th year) will be under the spotlight, he has been digging through his old collection for weeks trying to put together some of the favorite music from all the generations he has been in the booth, from his old casette tapes, to the 45's, to his current IPOD. John has seen more take place at The Starboard than anyone...so is very excited for this major anniversary mark for a place we all love very much. DJ Smoky will take over for a bit after John, then LauraLea & Tripp Fabulous will hit the stage with their tribute to The Starboard. It was difficult to try and cover all the decades of entertainment in one short night think you will all enjoy how we cover so much of the Starboard's past with all the variety. As everyone leaves, we will have staff ready to hand each of you a special gift to take home and enjoy more Starboard laughs at home. We have produced a commemorative DVD-Documentary with interviews from old staff, owners, customers, etc... on The Starboard and their memories. Also included is a fantastic booklet complete with pictures and articles on this past year, and many of the previous 50 years. I had the previous logo's from the two earlier owners re-created to make special cups for the evening, so you will each receive plenty of cups with these logos to take home. The original pirate logo, Chip Hearn's mermaid logo, and our current shark logo.
The Starboard will be open to all for breakfast, bloody marys and plenty of war stories from the big night before. More time to catch up as most will stop back in for one last visit prior to leaving town. Steve will open up the DJ booth early on Sunday as to simulate a normal summer Suicide Sunday!
