This Saturday...14th Annual Running of The Bull!
Date:July 14, 2010

Here we go again...the 14th straight year hosting the absolute silliest day of the summer! The day when THOUSANDS of you show up at The Starboard by 10am to get the party started. Again this year we will have our entire parking lot fenced in with food and drinks served outside in addition to the rest of our normal restaurant. Bud Lights will be iced and ready along with The Starboard's own Bull Sharks and Crushes. We will have Egg Sandwiches and Pulled Pork available outside and I advise each and every one of you ...Don't Forget to EAT! A run down our beach may be more exercise than many of you see while in Dewey Beach...so we will give out bottled water all day and ask you to please stay hydrated! Last year I gave away over 75 cases of bottled water during the event.

Friday Night
The Pre-Party Tailgate festivities! All of the cast of characters that make up our Bull Running will be getting warmed up Friday night. The parking lot will be set up and ready for the early morning on Saturday. See you all here Friday night as we ramp up for the big event!
Saturday Morning
We start serving breakfast at 8am, and alcohol will be available promptly at 9am. Bloody Marys, Crushes, Bull Sharks, Captain & Cokes, and Ice Cold Bud Lights are all the call for the day. (obviously plenty of fresh sangria will be floating around as well!) Our parking lot bars will be open by 10am, with food served out there, too. As in years past, we expect the place to be full by 10am...if you want a table for breakfast, I suggest you get here by 8:15am, otherwise they will all be taken, sorry...just the way this day works. (it's not like anyone eats then leaves on Bull Running Day!)
At Noon, the Bull will make his first appearance of the day, circling through the bar for a few rounds prior to the run.
Just short of 2pm, we will gather all on the podium as our Master of Ceremonies, Michael McDonnell, will take the platform and welcome everyone to the big event. After a short trip through Dewey via Taxi Cab...the Bull will arrive once the Olé, Olé, Olé chants can be heard throughout town. The New York/DC firemen will bless us with their bagpipes for God Bless America, then our own LAURALEA will lead everyone in a stirring rendition of our National Anthem. Michael McDonnell will several times go over the rules that make this thing possible ...which are VERY IMPORTANT if we want to continue this tradition!

(1) Cross the street when leaving the Starboard all together, and as fast as possible. Police will assist you in getting across the busy highway quickly, holding up traffic for just a moment or two so you can all cross safely. Once they start moving traffic again, you would need to be out of the street, and use crosswalks. We tend to forget that Saturday traffic on this state highway is at a maximum with Saturday-Saturday rentals.
(2) Once you get to the beach, everyone will gather, then charge the beach together, and everyone MUST STAY INSIDE THE ORANGE CONES while on the beach. Our Dewey Beach Patrol will be heavily monitoring the run so that you can all have fun, and those on the beach can watch without getting caught up in the run. It is very important that everyone stay within the orange cones and that NOBODY tries to jump in the Ocean. It is assumed by our beach patrol that anyone running with the bull has had an alcoholic beverage (or two), so they do not allow anyone to jump in the ocean and will remove you immediately if you try. Sorry....part of what happens when this thing gets so big!
(3) When you come off the beach, officers will again be on hand to help you cross right there at Dagsworthy Street, then walk back up the highway to The Starboard.
Upon return to The Starboard, LauraLea & Tripp Fabulous will be rocking away on the decks, so get back, grab a cold drink and enjoy the rest of the festivities! Thank you in advance for helping with these rules, this event has gotten so large, and is so high profile, we need everyone's help to assure it goes well in the eyes of all looking on!

You will see plenty of Rehoboth Beach Fire Fighters on hand selling the 2010 Bull Run T-Shirts, Bandanas, etc... they are here to raise money for not only our local fire department, but also our local police. You will notice the heavy presence of Dewey and State police for this event, we appreciate their services to help pull this off, and ask each of you to help in donating what you can as this money will help both departments purchase much needed supplies to assist in our public safety! Bud Light and The Starboard have donated the product, and we are depending on our loyal customers to help this cause when collecting your T-Shirt, etc.

Sunday will be awesome this week. All of the stories and good times will be re-hashed. Doug Segree will hit the stage on our deck by 2pm, then Sunday night we wind it down with Jimi Smoooooth and the Hit Time at 9pm. Bud Light will be on special all day long as well as Smirnoff Orange Crushes! Elvis will be on hand as he is every single Sunday morning at 12 Noon for Breakfast with Elvis. See you here for the best day of the week in Dewey Beach, Suicide Sundays at The Starboard!

The Starboard has been filled to capacity for every single World Cup game, including the Wednesday morning games, or whenever they may fall. Well this Sunday...we wrap up the 2010 World Cup series with the FINALS shown in Full HD at 2:30pm. No other place in Dewey Beach has the amount of TV's or HD Capability we have at The Starboard, with Suicide Sunday already in full swing, this just adds more to the party! Spread the world to watch the World Cup Finals Sunday afternoon, 2:30pm at The Starboard!

For this major event, we will have our Starboard TV cameras on hand to film the festivities. This event was the main reason we launched Starboard TV, you will now be able to view the entire event a few days later at TheStarboard.TV. They will run contests and fun events as they continue to provide EXCELLENT footage of your Starboard with Starboard TV! And yes...it is 100% free, so please check it out as I promise you will enjoy the clips!

Next Wednesday, July 14th is our huge concert ON THE BEACH here in Dewey to raise money for the estuary programs down in the Gulf. To date, we have raised over $30,000 in corporate sponsors! The website for you to learn more on this effort is DECOASTGULFAID.ORG Please check it out as we would like as many people to be involved as possible in this effort to help out our friends in Louisiana!
Thanks so much, our excitement is at an all time high as we prepare for the Bull Running, look forward to each of you being here and sharing in the great times!
