WOW! What a PHENOMENAL weekend for Dewey Beach! The weather was perfect, the town was at capacity, and from all signs, most everyone had a great time while here! Thanks so much to everyone for bringing this small beach town to life and treating all of us so well over the crazy weekend. Speaking on behalf of The Starboard, thanks for making this (if not the VERY best), certainly one of the top weekends in our history! All our winter preparations paid off as it was one of the smoothest big weekends we have ever experienced. The numbers on product used were staggering. 125 cases of champagne magnums! 85 cases of orange vodka for crushes! 135 cases of Oranges, 80 cases of Grapefruits....The Starboard kept the citrus growers of America happy this weekend!
The Starboard, The Lighthouse/Cove/Que Pasa, and Nalu/Ponos spent $6,000 on bringing in extra police from surrounding towns over the weekend to assist our local Dewey Police...no major incidents were reported. These visiting police had such a great time in our town this weekend, half of them told me they would be here 'off the clock' this coming weekend to partake in the fun! They were all impressed with how most people were in great moods and well behaved for the amount of partying taking place over a major holiday weekend.
With Memorial Day now behind us, we can get back to the business of summer 2011! This weekend The Starboard will be back to "normal," filled with our regular crowds and hopefully more perfect weather! At this point in the week, the forecast looks ridiculous...Sunny and 75 all weekend. |

As you can tell by the picture, the lines wrapped around the block very early on Sunday morning last weekend, this picture was taken in the 10am hour. I spent hours passing out bottled water and doing what I could to keep the lines moving. Hope everyone finally made it in for the awesome tradition of Suicide Sunday! This weekend we continue with Breakfast with Elvis at Noon, Doug Segree on the deck all afternoon, and then we kick off our new Sunday night series of Kristen and Joe on stage. The long lines will be gone, so come on down and enjoy a fantastic "normal" weekend!

THANKS again for your support this past weekend, hope you enjoyed our new Watermelon crushes...or try a watermelon margarita!! Orange Crushes were certainly the biggest seller of the weekend, and plenty of people ordered our new Dawgs topped with Mac & Cheese, as well as the Hangover Helper off our breakfast menu.
